so i really enjoy literal translations, such as how this package of rice noodles i bought for pad thai once had the phrase “once tried ever wanted!” chinglish is endlessly entertaining.
anyway, we got this review from the swedish blog no modest bear. in swedish. the according to the literal google translation:
Sandbox Astronomy? What does it involve? Well, anyway, indie / folk band Sandbox Astronomy from Pittsburgh has just released its debut EP View from the Center of the Universe and now share out the free digital in 128k format on its website (do you want 320 you will decorate measly 3 dollars or something). It is a wonderful mix of banjo, mandolin, ukelele, tambourine, violin, cello, organ, trumpet and accordion, which is quite young (2008) offers seven-member band. Typical indie folk might say, but with Graeme Ross-Munro on vocals may still be the typical Indian tribes to be unique and förjävla good
at first i thought my favorite line would be “you will decorate measly 3 dollars” until i got to the last line: “Graeme Ross-Munro…may still be the typical indian tribes…”
i have no idea what the idiomatic expression is actually supposed to translate to, but i think this way is better. yes, graeme certainly is the typical indian tribes. has swedlish been coined yet?
for our swedish friends, here’s a little jens lekman:
